MS02 - Optimization in Oil and Gas Industries

Organized by:
Silvana Bastos and Bernardo Horowitz, UFPE-Recife, Brazil

Description:
The advances in computational and numerical capabilities allow more efficient engineering design, through the solution of optimization problems. Thus, new realistic and challenging optimization applications in Oil and Gas Industries including the following areas: Reservoir Engineering, Offshore Engineering and Pipelines have been tackled.
This mini-symposium is dedicated to the discussion of recent developments and applications of optimization techiniques in  the field of Oil and Gas Engineering  and related areas. The goal is to bring together researchers, students and professionals in the field of those areas. Papers related to practical applications of optimization methods as well as software development are encouraged to be submitted in this mini-symposium.
