Tissue engineering (TE) is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary field experiencing intense development in the past few years. It involves biology, engineering and material science methods by providing suitable biochemical and physiochemical factors towards the development of biological substitutes to restore, maintain, or improve tissue functions.

ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Tissue Engineering is designed to be a major forum to discuss novel ideas and strategies for tissue engineering, as well the current state-of-the-art in the field. This Conference will focus on:

  • Understanding the fundamentals of tissue engineering
  • Modelling and characterisation of scaffolds for tissue engineering
  • Modelling the relationship between scaffold, cell attachment, proliferation and differentiation
  • Designing and development of scaffolds for tissue engineering
  • Fabrication and testing of scaffolds for tissue engineering
  • Cell signaling
  • Computational Bone Mechanics
