The teaching activity of the Scientific Area of Control, Automation and Industrial Informatics (CAII)
takes place within the Mechanical Engineering Department (DEM).
Several courses in the curricula of the different degrees granted by Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) are taught.
There are 16 faculty members, charged with lecturing, practice teaching and laboratory teaching, and 5 support staff members.
Faculty members teach in all three cycles of Bologna degrees:
Undergraduate degrees (1st cycle), Master's degrees (both integrated and 2nd cycle), and Doctoral degrees (3rd cycle).
Research activities of CAII faculty take place within the
Centre of Intelligent Systems -
IDMEC.
